Pada 1-2 dan 15-16 Mac yang lalu telah diadakan Kursus Keterampilan Pragraduan (Finishing School) yang dianjurkan oleh Unit Kokurikulum Universiti Putra Malaysia yang bertujuan untuk membantu graduan dalam menempuhi dunia sebenar sebelum graduan mendapat pekerjaan. Antara perkara-perkara yang diajar oleh Fasilitator sewaktu kursus tersebut ialah perkenalan diri dalam sesuatu organisasi yang bakal diceburi nanti lebih kurang bagaimana untuk memperkenalkan diri mereka kepada staf-staf yang lain, mengajar kemahiran dalam berbicara dengan orang yang tidak dikenali dengan penuh keyakinan, cara untuk membuat perbentangan berkenaan dengan sesuatu topik ataupun isu. Perkara tersebut berlaku pada hari pertama kursus tersebut.
Pada hari kedua pula, perkara yang diajar kepada kami ialah berkenaan dengan bagaimana persediaan untuk memulakan pekerjaan dari aspek pakaian, kekemasan dan keterampilan diri sendiri. Selain itu, kami juga diajar bagaimana untuk menentukan apakah bidang kerja kami pada masa akan datang. membuat resume dan cover letter juga diajar pada hari kedua kursus tersebut bagi persediaan untuk memohon kerja selain daripada mempelajari kemahiran temuduga yang dijalankan oleh fasilitator.
Sesungguhnya, tidak disangka kami memperoleh ilmu yang cukup bermakna yang tidak dapat diperolehi oleh orang lain terutama kepada mereka yang tidak menghadirkan diri pada hari tersebut....
